Handelsblatt broke the news tonight: Burda steigt bei Videoportal Sevenload ein. I am very excited that we are finally able to talk about this deal in public as it has been in the works for several months. Sevenload's technology is in many ways very advanced and a great showcase for Europe's ability to innovate without simply copying Silicon Valley start-ups. It offers great image and video sharing capabilities but in its core it has developed technology that enables smart delivery of video content without generating huge bandwith costs. Sevenload's founder Ibrahim "Ibo" Evsan is an internet video veteran who has managed to assemble a great and outstanding team of developers, designers, and support staff that is dedicated to disrupt the way we consume "TV" in the future. Under the terms of the deal, Sevenload will remain independent, a key factor that enables the start-up to keep up pace in the future. The race for the leading European internet platform has just begun.
