We spent Friday and Saturday in beautiful Kreuth, enjoying Steffi's hospitality and brainstorming about the upcoming DLD. If you attended a previous DLD and would like to return, you should already mark this date in your calendar: January 21-23, 2007. It will again take place in Munich and I think we came up with some very exciting ideas for discussion topics and panels that cover a broad range of issues that might potentially be on target in early 2007.
Our goal is to not do yet another Web 2.0 conference. For one, many of the companies that now make up what is commonly known as "Web 2.0" were speaking at the previous DLDs. So we tried to look beyond the hype and identify broader issues touching innovation from various angles, including changing work environments, politics and the impact of an open unregulated Internet on society as a whole and on the various communities that make up our daily interaction.
If you have an idea for DLD, if you have a speaker in your mind that you would like to see on a panel, or if you have a topic you would like to share, please feel encouraged to get involved.
We want the next DLD to be highly interactive. We feel that the lines between the panel and the audience should blur. We want to make sure there is enough time to network and plenty of coffee (and bandwidth) for everyone. Also, if you live in the Munich area and want to help creating DLD07, let me know.
