Madonna is clearly throwing the towel. Fuck creativity and innovation. Let's just take an ancient disco song, add some custom beats and new lyrics. Bingo. Her new (cough) single Hung Up sounds so cheap, it makes me want to cry. And you know what? I can already see them dance to this crap, throwing their hands in the air like it's 1978. The same folks that can't party without the Village People (Why Am Cee Ey) and the Weather Girls (It's raaaaining, M'am). Maybe it's time to buy a good old ABBA CD after all.

Personally, I don't think it's too bad, not even a bad reference. And it's a little "back to the roots", even for her. We're not getting younger, are we? But I fear the use of well known disco samples has increased primarily due to one development: Cellphone sound processors and speaker quality are reminiscient of the abilities of early electronic music equipment, and stupid teenagers downloading ringtones for absurd prices are creating a new money for literally nothing craze in the music industry... Remember Eric Pryze's/Stever Winwood's "Call on me" last year? Thank God they did produce a video ;).
The song is very nice, something diferent from all we are hearing at the momment, i liked it and i know manyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy too.
And madonna still looks hot on that video :O!
This single is wonderful! Aggressive bassline, driving beat, and sensible vocals. Madonna is hot, and this song is a testament to her staying power. I think sampling ABBA is proper, seeing as she is paying homage to to the disco era, an era of escapism. She is a genius, and this song is number one.
So what if it isnt something new??? Does that make the song worse? No. Madonna has done new things enough and this single has nothign new cause it's the first one and the most commercial one. This track rocks! Oooh baby every little thing...

I love it! Younger generations today might even be inspired to seek out the song with the original disco riff and expand their musical knowledge further than this decade. Good ol' Madonna :)

I think Madonna just needs to please her gay-crowd with this track, nothing much more. And they will love it!

the only good parts of the video are the parts without her. her part is basically the "call on me" video, and the airbrushing can only cover up so much of her sagging thighs.

Madonna is a freaking living legend! forget about her snobby attitude, forget about her bitchiness, forget about how commercial her music is. She's a musical phenomenon that will be remembered as one of the most prominent icons in modern music/pop-culture history.
As for hung up..any song that samples ABBA gets my two thumbs up!! That song is sheer geniosity I tell you. I got the chance to hear the whole album and TRUST ME when I say this: it is going to be MASSIVE!!

I love both abba and madonna. been following madonna's career for 21 years now and i think she's awesome! Hung up samples on Gimme3 which was also one of my favourite songs. I agree that after listening to Hung up, it sorta stick to my brain for hours. It's just soo catchy. It is going to be HUGE! And the new generation will want to find out about Abba and they will be surprised that Abba is the greatest group in the world that managed to stay on top throughout the 70's...no other group can do that except the beatles. Oh, and Madonna rocks!
I walked into a club last Friday night and this one was pumping out. Absolutely awesome. Everyone was totally high on it..even the plonkers at the bars were jumping about. Always loved ABBA & Madonna..always will...
Give me a break! Madonna sucks! She has to result to copying sound bytes from abba. Madonna, try to be a little more creative and invent your own damn music. In addition, madonna is so nasty. If she was not famous, most people would agree that she is horribly ugly, which she is. The fact that she is wearing those horrible purple BARNY-ish leotards is another testament to her patheticness.
