Tagging the planet

Ever wanted to bookmark and tag a geographic location? Now you can. Tagzania. Remixing the web. Great stuff. Victor has the full story.
Example geomark.

Comments to this weblog entry:

This thing would make much more sense if items could have links. Without, its use is rather limited (or unexciting). Though half-baked, it shows the way to go in popular geo-annotation.

Yep, I'm also missing Links and Upload of Pictures. I would like to see a "fusion"/"merger" of Plazes and Tagzania.

More geo-annotation: HotOrNot + Google Maps ;-)

Hi!

I'm one of the developpers of Tagzania. Many, many thanks for your tests and feedbacks! :-)

In fact, the system had an URL upload fields in alpha, but we thought it was too much for the launch so we removed it. (Too much and no so structured metadata, I mean).

You ask urls, someone else photos and someone else... Maybe later we'll show a wider text area so that you will be able to add URLs and links to external objects in HTML, as Flickr does for example.

You have very interesting site!
Respect you!
