Food for thought

Have you ever wondered how we don't care if a murderer has a Christian background but we seem to freak out if a murderer is associated with Islam?

Comments to this weblog entry:

Have you ever wondered why it is so important how many Germans died during attack xy?

"No Germans died at the xy bombing."

I can't say I like that, either. On the other hand, there haven't been too many suicide attacks by christian fundamentalists lately...
I think it would help immensely if the muslim community in their entirety would stand up and make it visible that these are fanatics misusing the religion for their own purposes. As long as they keep quiet on a large scale, this association will be hard to overcome, unfortunately.

...maybe not suicide, but in the U.S. Eric Rudolph was recently sentenced to life in prison for boming two abortion clinics, one gay nightclub, and the Olympics in Atlanta...and his motivation: Christian fundamentalist anti-abortion views. Yet the Chrsitian community is deafeningly silent.
