Back in September 2001, Mena and Ben Trott announced "yet another weblogging management system." I have been a big fan and a very committed user of MovableType since those early beta days.

Did I expect that in 2004 I would be approached to take on the challenge of representing the company behind MovableType - and the popular TypePad weblog service - in Germany? It truely came as a major surprise.

So today I would like to announce that I am joining the gang and will work closely with Loic le Meur and his European team in an effort to promote MovableType and launch the German version of TypePad.

I am truly excited.

So what's next, you might ask. When will there be a German version of TypePad? Will current TypePad users be able to switch to the localized version? What about MT 3.0?

Shortly we will be able to answer all those questions in detail. There will be a German blog covering the latest developments and we will make sure we are working closely with our large German user base to continue to deliver quality products and services to the weblogging community.
