Welcome Cyprus, the Czech Republic, Estonia, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Malta, Poland, Slovakia and Slovenia!

And the next enlargement is around the corner: Bulgaria and Romania will join the Union in 2007, providing they meet the required standards of readiness in time.

This is historic. Change for the better. May all our hopes for times in peace come true.
