Time is the limit

Deadlines. More deadlines. And time pressure, lots of it. Quoting from an email I received today:

Dear Heiko,
I need to do research on subject [x]. I was handed the assignment today and I need to turn in my article tomorrow. It will appear in the June issue of our magazine [y].
This is the life of a journalist, let's face it. There isn't always time to work on the next big Pulitzer story. So instead of bloggers bashing individual journalists, we should rather blame the system.
Now with weblogs, on the contrary, there ain't no deadlines. It is a continious information flow. While journalists working for large publications have [in theory] unlimited research capabilities, bloggers have [in theory] unlimited time.
