A European E-Tech?

I find this idea appealing. Let me day dream for a minute. It's a geeky dream of course, but hey, what would you expect anyway?

O'Reilly's Emerging Technologies Conference has turned into a hit. As attending bloggers have been confirming in the recent years, the conference is very well organized, it has that certain buzz, it has momentum, it attracks a very interesting crowd that is treated with respect and encourged to interact through all means possible. Now could there be a European version of E-Tech? I envision a symbyosis of reboot and blogtalk with a flavor of Jupiter Events and Demo and a European focus. Something impactful yet intimate. At a nice location that can be reached easily (even for participants from, say, Estonia or Portugal). A platform for presentation and discussion. A broadcast of enterpreneurial spirit. A channel for feedback from the streets.

Wouldn't that be fun?

Comments to this weblog entry:

that sounds like good fun, but who is going to organize it?

who? YOU!

hmm. I somehow doubt that I can convince my boss that we want to organize conventions now...
