Yet another social networking rant

Social networks rock. I am now a member at LinkedIn, openBC, Friendster, Friendity, Orkut and Ryze. And guess what? This afternoon I spent three hours evaluating my conjoint network of friends and acquaintances. The surprising result: I actually already know everyone. I happen to be friends with every CEO on this planet. I also already know all single women in Texas. I don't need to go out any longer. I realized that I can totally shift from hanging out at clubs, bars and business lunches to building upon my existing network of mutual friends. The more time you spend in social networks, the more people you will discover that you coincidentally already know, the less time you need to deal with real people in real life. That's quite a convenience and a big time saver.
