At least for now. I installed the MT Security Code plug-in. It's not the best solution and does not work for anyone, but it works for me and (hopefully) the vast majority of my audience. In times where even blacklists don't seem to do a proper job, it was time to take some proactive action. So this is my answer.
The security code is being used both here at hebig.com and at the Wahlblog. If you consider installing it: it does require some code modifications within MT library code, but the plug-in is well documented and changes are straight-forward.
