Dear Datenschutzbeauftragter
Datenschutzbeauftragter, der (data security and protection commissioner, federal and national)
Dear Datenschutzbeauftrager,
this web site often publishes names of real persons along with their public URLs.
Now the European Court of Justice has held that the act of referring, on an internet page, to various persons and identifying them by name or by other means (giving their telephone number or information about their working conditions and hobbies) constitutes "the processing of personal data wholly or partly by automatic means".
Does that mean I need to register this web site with the German supervisory authority for the protection of electronically transmitted data?
This might get funny.
For a much more detailed review, read Martin Röll's post.

Geez, that's so weird. So you can't even mention some celebrity's or politician's name? If I understood corretly then it's just...dumb
> If I understood corretly ...
Sorry, but you didn't understand. It's not about famous people. It's about the contrary.
I would like to know the extent to which I, as a Licensed Professional Counselor (similar to psychotherapist), can retain confidentiality. I have been asked´by my employer in Germany to provide "Names, dates, and times of my contacts."
Thank you in advance. Any reference to specific legislaton would also be appreciated. I do not mind if it is in German.
Dr. Robert C. Bender
