How many blogs in DE?

Thomas Gigold starts an interesting discussion: How many (active) German blogs exist in the blogosphere? Current guesstimation: ~ 6.000.

Not really! My first result was "5.600 Weblogs bei den deutschsprachigen Services" _ _german-speaking services_! not in germany at all.
But after some discussions with other Bloggers I decited to change to "6.000 in Germany", included all blogger.com, Livejournals and Blogs with own Webspace, cause the number of blogs @ myblog.de is a little bit too high, isn't it?
Oh, and 20six said, they have 8.000 Blogs! I only said they have 300!
So the total number will be 15.000 at all? I can't imagine!
thanks for the 20six numbers. last time i checked everyone who signs up for a 20six account gets automatically a weblog. does this mean that 20six has 8000 users only?
