Lufthansa - please don't call us
My return flight to Germany is scheduled for Sunday. In order to prevent Lufthansa from putting me into a seat on the very last row of the plane again I would like to call ahead to reconfirm my flight data and reserve an isle seat that is not right in front of busy and smelly restrooms. Easy thing to do, right? Just go to lufthansa.com and look up the phone number of their reservation hotline in the US. [1]
Oops, no phone number there. Actually, there is no link to any contact information whatsoever. Maybe "Check-in" will get me further. [2]
Ah! There is a contact link. Let's try that right away. Note how the contact link on the top shifts places? Well, let me try the Lufthansa Worldwide Locations option. [3]
Let's see. I am in San Francsico, USA. Ooops again, no "Vereinigte Staaten", no "USA". [4]
Maybe switching to the English version of the Lufthansa site will clear up the confusion here, ..., but no, the "United States" is missing yet again. [5]
So how can I reconfirm my flight? Did Lufthansa stop flying the friendly skies over here? Did I miss anything? Mommmy! *cry*

Try calling (800) 645-3880. Got it from this page. First hit in Google for lufthansa usa phone.
There's also an official page here. The trick was to use lufthansa-usa.com (found that one by googling for "lufthansa usa") instead of lufthansa.com and then folow the "contact" links like you described above. Lufthansa information architecture is a mess!
Looks like Google serves as an "information wrapper" to user-unfriendly web sites. Google should explore that further ;)
you need to have senator status, then you can do everything by phone, even asking them to wait until you get to the gate...
> then you can do everything by phone
provided, you find the phone number :)
About 10 years ago the number was 1-800-FLY-LUFT, may be that still works?
I am using my friend's computer to send this
e-mail to you, because yesturday August 30, 2003
my firend left Vancouver to Italy with your
company. At the airport when we did the check-in
there was a Chinese lady who made a complaint
with my friend beacuse she had a Canadian
passport, but did not speak good English. I told
her it was none of her business and I don't
think she should make these kinds of comments
towards people. I have alawys flown with
Lufthansa, but from now on I will fly with a
different company because I like polite, kind
and helpful people.
Thank you very much, Marcella
Marcella,
thank you for your comment. But this page is NOT affiliated with Lufthansa in any way.
Very Very Hard to contact lufthansa. I bought 2 fully refundable tickets from lufthansa for 39500.00. They said they do not handle refund contact refund dept in Newyork, there is no contact info for refund dept except fax number. I faxed the infomation no response. The shitest alirline.
I had the exact same problem and tried to find the phone number the same way you did. Thanks to your website and posted comments I now finally have the number - vielen dank!
Yes, this is not easy to find phone number. Thanks google I could do it.
I flew LH last year- airbus- Big Mistake! it was packed, crowded, I asked for Orange Juice and was told that there "wasn't enough for breakfast" - I asked where the magazines are- there were none. "only for Business and First Class", I was told. On a 12-hour flight from Munich to SF?? An American lady asked for a glass of champagne, the snotty stew informed her: "I don't have champagne, I only have Sekt." As if anybody outside of Germany had any idea what "sekt" means! Give her something bubbly, honey, and that's good enough! I absolutely hate Lufthansa now- for the money they charge, they re a joke in USA. I flew from S Francisco to New York recently; very big, luxurious leather seats, TV for each passenger, for $99. Free drinks galore.
Lufthansa has a lot to learn.
Now what's their phone number again? This typical German arrogance. (It's ok, I can say that. I AM German.)
But not as weird like they are!
I need to get a phone number to the customer service department. Not a fax number.
Here is an even better site where you can find all the star alliance (lufthansa, austrian, united etc.) phone numbers all over the world: http://www.staralliance.com/star_alliance/star/frame/main_10.html
Just wanted to vent. I couldn’t find any numbers and turned to Google, as usual.
I’ve been on hold in silence for quite some time now.
Seems like they "corrected" the problem - just now tried contacting 1-800-645-3880 And the responses I get is - please check the number dialed. Luftahansa has done it again ! BTW, I need to change my return ticket for this weekend. Now I am worried...esp after reading this site....
can any one help tring to contact lufthansa lost property im in uk but lost propeety on flight from bangkok to frankfurt just cant get any contact number.. thanks
Thanks for the phone number!
I called them, and got a reply, and they were very nice and very helpful... now, if they could only schedule their flights so that there is at least an hour of layover in Frankfurt so that I wouldn't have to actually run to catch the flight to the US I'd be much happier.
i fly lufthansa at least twice a year from dallas, tx to athens, greece. they are by far the best airline i have traveled on.
thanks for the 1-800 #!
516-296-9691 x 525 ask for Carlos
They dont answer as lufthansa and they wont tranfer you unless you give your name and they ask who you are looking for. It seem like you are calling the CIA. I hate being treated like this. I faxed, and four months later they called and asked me to send them the original tickets that were printed wrong. I sent them, and no response.
What a riot! The 800 number works fine.
I'm in CH though and when I called the travel agent for a phone number +41 44 286 7070, the anwaer I got was "You have reached a completely wrong department, here is the 0900 number that you can call." Then I asked them what their department was and they would not tell me! Why do I want to know they asked. LOL!
Here is a good list: http://www.travelersnet.com/support/tools/phone.htm
When phoning in NYC to Luftansa, the number 800 645 3880 reahces a marketing company that has nothing to do with the airline. This number appears on at least 3 sites which are reached through Google. I guess the best is to look in the phone book and hope their number is right.
Any has any idea where to send back tickets to lufthansa (europe) for a refund?
I beleive it's a PO Box somewhere in Ireland...?
hey there,
i have this following pb with lufthansa. last year i bought a 2 way ticket Bucharest-Frankfurt-Singapore-Jakarata...and back.
the thing is that they return ticket is open date and the ticket will expire on the 2nd of august. since may i am trying to get that reservation made.the employees of lufthansa's office in indonesia keep on telling that there is no free seat. Last week they told me to call them back on 26th of july. I asked if it wouldn't be too late and wether i can get a seat. they told me..if yoiu don't get a seat just buy another ticket.
i tried to use the lufthansa.com site to send a complaint and my complaint would not fit any of the complaints sections there. i chose the closest one and sent email..no reply.
last friday i sent them email at infofly@lufthansa.com...after 5 days no reply.
can anyone tell me what it is to be done?
thanks
I posted my original tickets to you regarding a full refund, the staff here in Houston said there would be no problem. Please could you update me with any infomation?.

Their newest phone number is:
1-800-FU2-5YOU
Worst airline ever.
I booked tickets with them from an online site. I got the reservation no problem but with screwy seat assignments. I found their number on this site (Thanks!), called had a short wait, got through they reassigned my seats to what I wanted and were very polite. I have yet to actually fly but so far they have been fine (except for the missing contact info).
