Lodging at Propeller Island

The Propeller Island City Lodge has got to be one of the most spectacular places in Berlin. It is a combined museum, art space, and hotel. Each of the rooms is decorated according to different themes - and I am not even sure if "decoration" is the right term in the context of what Lars Stroschen, the artist behind all this work, has achieved here.
In a way, it reminded me of the Carlton Arms Hotel in New York City, but the Propeller Island Lodge is boosting the concept to a whole new level.
Each room is equipped with a "mood generator", an audio system that allows you to select from diffent background noises to entertain you in case you are in need of inspiration.
The hotel currently offers 30 rooms. The oldest rooms were opened in 1997, the latest are just a few months old. Even more rooms will be added soon.
If you ever need to spend a night in Berlin, make sure to consider this place. It is conveniently located close to the outer Kurfürstendamm and public transportation (Bus and Subway, U-Bahn Adenauer Platz) is just around the corner.

Comments to this weblog entry:

adenauer platz is NOT a convenient location.

whoever rents a hotelroom to be entertained is strongly recommended the dvd at home instead...

well, ok, Oranienburger Str would be better I guess, but as long as you don't mind public transportation, it is not that bad.

and it's only a few more months till our big (BIG) reissue of (even bigger) BIG EDEN... wait and see. west is back!
